Monday Money Saving Tip – Coupon Organizing

Share

Sometimes despite our best efforts, the coupons we clip go unused. Here is a tip to help make sure those coupons make it to the store!

Organize coupons by expiration date. I have never been a big fan of those big coupon binders. Unless you are super organized, it is hard to track coupon expiration dates. The key is to create a manageable stash of coupons. Clip only those coupons you know you will use. Do save your circulars in the event you need to go back and clip a coupon (make sure to write the date on each circular). Coupon Mom has a coupon database that allows you to look up coupons and locate them in previous circulars.

Organize coupons by their expiration date in a legal size envelope. That way, as a particular coupon nears its expiration date, you know you need to use it. Put the coupons you plan to use on your next shopping trip in a smaller envelope in the front. To maximize the amount of money you save with a particular coupon, check electronic rebate apps such as Ibotta and SavingStar. Put the coupon envelope in the car so you won’t forget to bring it with you.

In the game of saving money, every coupon counts. Until next time, Happy Homemaking!
