Monday Money Saving Tip – The Power of the Dollar Store
Never underestimate the power of the dollar store! Going to the dollar store on a regular basis helps me with saving money on all sorts of products. Read on to find out my valuable money saving tips!
Whenever I am in the dollar store, I feel like a kid in a candy store! There are hundreds of unique items to choose from! Here is my list of top money saving items.
Kitchen Items. My favorite items to buy at the dollar store are wine glasses. Since the average price of wine glasses is $5.00 at most other stores, I save at least 80% by purchasing them at the dollar store. With the ease at which wine glasses break, I can’t afford to not to buy them at the dollar store. Other kitchen items I purchase at the dollar store are plates, cups, plastic containers, cookie sheets and kitchen towels.
Office Supplies. The dollar store is a treasure trove of low cost office supplies. It helps me with saving money on pens, notepads, enevelopes and sticky notes. If you have kids, the dollar store is a good place to buy coloring supplies.
Greeting Cards. I am always amazed at the greeting cards I find at the dollar store. Often times, I find brand name greeting cards for a fraction of the price I would pay at other stores. The dollar store is also a great place for saving money on gift bags.
Dog Waste Bags. Dog waste bags can be pricey when bought at the pet store. At the dollar store, I can purchase a box of 50 for only $1.00!
Seasonal Items. The dollar store offers a plethora of money saving holiday/seasonal items from stocking stuffers, Easter basket fillers and Halloween candy.
Grocery Items. While I don’t make a habit of buying groceries at the dollar store, I have often found some brand name items. The dollar store has helped me with saving money on frozen pizza, chips, candy/gum and powdered drink mix.
The dollar store makes saving money a snap! Until next time, Happy Homemaking!
