Not So Modern Homemaking
Homemaking can definitely be challenging, especially when you don’t have access to modern conveniences.
When I was in my twenties, I lived in a cabin in the middle of the woods. For those of you who think this sounds romantic in a rustic kind of way, think again. The cabin was “off the beaten path” and didn’t have traditional power or plumbing. Electricity was generated by a bank of car batteries that needed to be charged nightly. As for the plumbing, there was a primitive line to the well that pumped a day’s supply of water to the cabin. When this line malfunctioned, which it did at times, I had no choice but to haul my own water. And not to mention the other challenges that come with living in the middle of the woods. Recently, I co-authored a blog post for a website called Gracie Guru. Follow this link to read more about my adventure.
